About john4jack
Photography began for me in the early 50s. It became a passion when I began backpacking in the Sierra in the 60s. My digital journey began in 2005. The digital darkroom has opened up a whole new realm for creativity. My primary subject matter is the natural world, especially flowers and macro. Photography for me is very spiritual and is integrally connected to my spiritual journey. When I photograph everything seems to dissolve together. This is my indoor work place. The calendar is an Ansel Adams' wall calendar. The photograph behind the monitor is a 1920s photo of "Le Tour" (they are taking a break drinking wine). The printer on the left is an HP B9180. Photography EquipmentNikon D700, Nikon D300, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8, 16-85mm, 70-300mm, 18-200mm; Sigma 150mm Macro f/2.8. Although I sometimes use Nikon NX2, I primarily use Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS4 (especially using the Nik Software (Silver Efex is terrific) and onOne plug-ins). |
