Kaylin Idora from New Orleans, United StatesYes, just to live is holy. Especially when we get to view amazing works of nature such as this!! When I first saw this I thought it was ice :) Wonderful effect!! 5 Jan 2009 5:31am @Kaylin Idora: It's what I call fake infrared. (We were there super early in the morning; no-one else was there for over 30 minutes. It was wonderful. Later in the day, it looked like the Chilkoot Pass during the gold rush.) Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesOh my, my eyes are playing tricks on me. My first impression, I thought I was looking at an ice sculpture. Magnificent BW tonal quality. 5 Jan 2009 5:35am @Suzanne: As I mentioned to Kaylin, it's fake infrared. I ran it through Nik's Silver Efex Pro. It's a lot of fun to play around with that stuff. Lydie et Roland from BESANCON, FranceMay be a white too much white in the clouds but a so nice composition !!! 5 Jan 2009 6:26am roentarre from Melbourne, AustraliaNature can reall present in various ways. Beautiful art here! 5 Jan 2009 7:17am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesvery cool indeed -- a wonderful trick of the eyes!! gorgeous -- i thought it was ice too! 5 Jan 2009 7:29am zOOm from Paris, FranceIce like cristal... nature can make such wonders ! It's truly a gorgeous icy landscape ! Thanks for sharing this beauty ! And what a clever idea for the infra-red... makes a perfect illusion ! Unforgettable ! 5 Jan 2009 12:10pm Olivier Jules from Lanciano, Italymagnificent composition and wise management of lighting 5 Jan 2009 12:33pm EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomFor me, the lighting is exquisite, providing contrast in the clouds from light to dark and accentuating the transparency of the ice. Utterly beautiful 5 Jan 2009 1:51pm mo.langel from Courtelary, SwitzerlandMagnifique image! On dirait de la glace! Très beaux contrastes! 5 Jan 2009 3:07pm k@ from Paris, FranceWow, the transparence is fabulous here, and the pp gorgeous work ! So great to have fun with those tools ! 5 Jan 2009 5:45pm JJ from Jersey City, United StatesWOW this is so cool the infrared really makes it look like an ice formation, this is so cool 5 Jan 2009 6:24pm Knut Magne from Hamar, NorwayGreat scene and good composition. Brave after treatment, bad that the sky was so powerful burned out. 5 Jan 2009 7:22pm @Knut Magne: Because the sky was so blown out, I never intended this to be a keeper. It was an opportunity to play with Silver Efex Pro. I posted it to show what can be done. Francesc B. from région parisienne, FranceFantastic B&W... your composition is excellent . 5 Jan 2009 9:23pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesI am a big fan of experimenting with black and white toning. Very well done. I thought it was an ice cave! 5 Jan 2009 9:44pm Mary from PA, United StatesI like this a lot. I'm a big fan of infrared. I hope to someday get another camera to have converted for infrared use only. Someday : ) 5 Jan 2009 9:44pm Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceUnusual post-treatment for this well known and incredible arch. Looks like ice, indeed... 5 Jan 2009 10:00pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaThis is absolutely luminous - a wonderful composition. Yes, the clouds are a little blown out, but with the processing you've done, it all works. 6 Jan 2009 4:52am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI missed this one yesterday....It's so beautiful, so other worldly and even a bit surreal. Perhaps a world made of ice...perhaps it's on the way. 7 Jan 2009 4:38am chinalandscape from ChinaThe ice image is very fresh to me with its curve shape. Well done! 12 Jan 2009 12:28pm baobab from Cambridge, United Statesvery spooky - thanks for posting this and the original along with some notes on your pp. 17 Jan 2009 5:27pm |
