First Trillium of SpringPosted by john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 29 March 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. The flowers are just starting to pop along the Nature Preserve trails. I experimented with a Canon 500D close-up accessory for this one; I plan to use it when I am not primarily doing macro work.

Stunning detail and delicate softness. 29 Mar 2009 1:26pm @Barbara: No Barb; for the crocus I used a Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro on a Nikon D300; it also was on a tripod and taken in our back yard. The trillium was hand held on a hike Friday. (The Sigma is just over $600 and is tack sharp.)
