Hi Jack! What a great shot--So many people I know don't like these Stellar's Jays...they can be rather obnoxious & loud---I love them though, they are beautiful & have such comical personalities. This one looks like he's up for some mischief :)

@observing: It was taken through the bedroom window with a Nikon 70-300mm on a D300 with the lens at 300mm (450mm, 35mm equivalent); plus, it was hand held. They say that the 70-300mm is not sharp above 200mm, but you couldn't prove it by me. I think that it is one of the best consumer lenses out there.
