Beautiful tones in the background also Jack - great work and wonderful focus point! 17 Apr 2009 5:07am @Scott Schilling: Thank you, Scott. Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaMan, that is lovely. I like the use of DoF. 17 Apr 2009 5:27am Toni from Eastern Washington, United StatesI'm jealous. Our parks are just grass and trees - no flowers anywhere. This is lovely, Jack. 17 Apr 2009 5:31am Alivia from Saint-Etienne, Francede tendres fleurs penchées pudiquement dans leur robe claire et vaporeuse.. une photo très poétique .. bravo 17 Apr 2009 8:15am Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United StatesI love your focal point in this one ... couldn't be better! 17 Apr 2009 8:28am "Marie" :-) from perth, AustraliaHi Jack, beautiful flower. Manel from Girona, SpainInteresting composition because the original point of focus. 17 Apr 2009 2:01pm Ajay from Pune, IndiaThis is a treat to the eyes. All said and done, this is a most wonderful shot. 17 Apr 2009 2:32pm @Laurie: It really was delicate, Laurie. As you well know, sometimes photographs can be a little deceiving, but not in this case. The reason for the selective focus was to try to emphasize the delicacy. Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canadathis is another remarkably done photo. So glad I took a few minutes to check in before heading out for my weekend. No doubt you'll be capturing more of these amazing shots over the weekend -- enjoy 17 Apr 2009 3:11pm @Diane Schuller: We are supposed to have fabulous weather this weekend!! jim from sebastopol, United Statesthis has such a wonderful and fragile beauty. jim 17 Apr 2009 3:12pm marc battault from clermont ferrand, Francea beautiful macro and colors in the soft light! 17 Apr 2009 3:57pm ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesYou jumped right into this one. I am so pleased to finally have discovered you. You are a marvelous addition to the aminus3 community. The range of what you have posted is amazing. Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United Statesnice one jack.....like the use of the blur (wide aperture?) on this.... 17 Apr 2009 10:24pm @Susan: My hunch is that I stuck on the Canon 500D macro filter. I remember having it with me, but can't remember if I used it for this shot. But I must have; otherwise, I don't think that I could have gotten that selective focus with an f/5.0. I'm terrible when it comes to taking notes. If it doesn't get imbedded in the EXIF, it's lost for good; at my age, you don't even have to make excuses any more for a lousy memory :) Magda from Vancouver, CanadaAnother beauty!!! 17 Apr 2009 11:47pm JJ from Jersey City, United StatesSuperb DOF control and detail, I hope to get out to the park tomorrow and get some flower shots, have been pretty slack thus far 18 Apr 2009 1:53am @JJ: Hope that you have good luck tomorrow. amy from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI'm always floored by the depth and clarity of that D700... that full frame sensor is incredible.
