@Annie Viguié: Thanks, Annie; it is fun to play with moving water and slow shutter speeds. @-C16H25NØ2-: Thank you. Bill Jennings from (Bay Area Northern Calif), United StatesLove your twitter quote! The colors that abound in this photo are a great addition to the silkiness of the gorge waters. Well done. 17 May 2009 5:56am @Bill Jennings: Thanks, Bill; the colors are pretty essential to the photograph; however, it's not too bad in monochrome. kerfendal from Paris, Franceyou choose long exposure and you were right, gorgeous 17 May 2009 6:02am @kerfendal: Thanks, Max. Lylou & Roland from Besancon, FranceNice Jack ! I do like playing with long exposure too ! 17 May 2009 6:19am Jean-François from Les Issambres, Francede la fraîcheur ça fait du bien ce matin et c'est merveilleux ! bravooooooooo 17 May 2009 6:30am @Onlymehdi: Thank you. Great photo. 17 May 2009 7:34am @Elena Kotrotsou: Thanks, Elena. P J W Miller from Chase Terrace, United KingdomVery nicely done blur motion, silky indeed 17 May 2009 7:41am Yochai from Kochav Yair, Israelvery nice work - you got a nice effect almost like a drawing. 17 May 2009 7:53am @Yochai: Thank you. @k@: Thanks, Karine. dkc from Xanthi, GreeceI had a conversation yesterday about long exposure water photos and your images came in my mind! You capture them with an amazing way...and using f/22 its really a challenge! 17 May 2009 8:03am @dkc: Thanks, Dimitris. The key is a sturdy tripod and a cable shutter release. f/22 enabled the slow shutter speed. The problem comes when the water is in bright light; you then need an ND filter (a polarizer often will do the job). Leena from Joensuu, FinlandThis kind of water is, what I would like to get to my photos :) Nice weekend to you! 17 May 2009 9:02am @Leena: Hope that you are having a lovely weekend as well, and can do some shooting in the beautiful Finnish countryside. Lee from Fort Frances Ontario, CanadaAnother well exposed shot. The water is as your title says. A silky creek, flowing across the landscape. 17 May 2009 10:08am Mathilde Collot from Fontainebleau, FranceNo inconsistency in your work! No, a constant! There is beauty and magic with varying degrees of intensity! Otherwise the quest does not exist! This is not our path which is 17 May 2009 11:13am @Mathilde Collot: Our comments and responses back and forth cause me to believe that we are on a very similar path, Mathilde. Vachel from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysianice composition and love the flow of the water... 17 May 2009 1:41pm Don from spokane, United StatesI like the bubbly nature of this waterfall. The water quality is very attractive. Looks like a great little waterfall area to take a rest and just listen to the water. 17 May 2009 1:46pm @Don: Especially at this particular fall, Don. jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesReally nice colors. That's what really popped out at me. The contrast between the greens and browns. 17 May 2009 2:05pm @jeff (aka dogilicious): Thanks, Jeff. Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesI agree wholeheartedly with you on Jerry's sentiment....it quickly sums up the beauty of am3!!! 17 May 2009 2:25pm @Susan: It's especially hard at the beach because the light is so bright. You need 4-8 stop ND filter. Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaThe greens are spectaular. They really set the photo on its way. 17 May 2009 3:32pm sawsengee from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiawonderful use of slow shutter speed.....the water cascades look like sheets of satin silk...very lovely contrast with the rocks & foliage 17 May 2009 3:54pm @sawsengee: Thank you. Fantastic work! 17 May 2009 4:50pm @Scott Schilling: Thanks, Scott; one of the things that I like best about this photograph are the rocks in the very lower left. joemulligan from United StatesJack, I think this is one of your most beautiful images. The moving water and static shore a common contrasting elements in many people pictures. I've taken thousands myself. But this is one of the best ever. I agree with Schott Schilling's comment above. One can feel the cool air and spray from the waterfall. This is gorgeous! 18 May 2009 3:43am @bluechameleon: Thank you. This was our first outing of shooting for the workshop and we stopped at a number of the waterfalls, all of which were booming. I had only had one experience before trying to create this effect. But you should know that I had a huge amount of stuff that ended up in the trash. @Manola: Merci Scott Schilling from San Martin, United StatesDear Jack, I noted your comment on the rocks in the lower left and those are nice because they help to anchor the entire scene is my eyes read this from left to right! I will be traveling some this month to some of my favorite locations so if you don't hear from me off and on, I will catch up when I get back. Take Care! 18 May 2009 4:59am dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesexcellent -- amazing detail and vivid color!! 18 May 2009 12:48pm Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI really like Jerry's thoughts on posting daily... my feelings were the same as yours, and that helps. 18 May 2009 1:05pm @Betty: Thanks, Betty.
