Superb image! 29 Jun 2009 3:37pm @Mathilde Collot: Thanks, Mathilde. The blurred statue made the photograph for me; I took a number of shots to get that effect. Cricket from Alabama, United StatesYou sound excited and ready to go with all that you have learned. I have taken a couple of days off myself to take three courses in photography. SHHH....I do plan on getting a little bit creative for a while. Long past due I guess. I will be working my way backwards once again to get caught up with all that I have missed. This is a great image. Plants have there own way of showing us where they are happy. Usually when we listen to them they will have a long life. I look forward to seeing what you will be sharing with us. Don't forget to fill us in on the "how" of it all. 29 Jun 2009 3:54pm @Cricket: Thanks, Tammy. What courses did you take? How did they go? Anthony Morgan Lambert from Bielefeld(old Pembroke dock boy,Wales), GermanyThe background really is the star of this shot, very well composed and great focus !! 29 Jun 2009 4:04pm @Anna.C: Thanks, Anna; the zen part is a big compliment. Ajay from Pune, IndiaVery different but very lovely flowers. Flowers are your favorite subject. Ain't they? 29 Jun 2009 5:03pm @Ajay: Yep; if I never photographed anything but flowers, I would be happy. @mo.langel: You said just the right words; merci, Mo. Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesThose are very pretty. I love the smell of these. I've been using flash off camera for a long time. It is really useful when flash is needed. I still prefer natural light but love to play with flash. Try high speed sync for some awesome shallow DoF images and dramatic portrait effects. The Nikon CLS is excellent for that. 29 Jun 2009 7:04pm @Laurie: Thanks, Laurie. I will still use natural lighting most of the time. The fill flash and the Ring Ray will be used for dealing with unwanted shadows in flower shots. At Fiona's birthday party yesterday, I used a bunch of off camera flash, mainly for the experience. Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesBeautiful shot... I don't think I've ever seen roses that look like these !!! Nice catch, with the statue in the background....Looks like you have a beautiful yard!!! 29 Jun 2009 8:06pm @Susan: Thanks, Susan; our yard is, indeed, gorgeous, a super-abundance of all kinds of flowers everywhere; it's been wave after wave of color. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomThese are very pretty little roses and such a georgous colour, they also look like they are thornless? 29 Jun 2009 9:06pm @MaryB: Thanks, Mary. marc battault from clermont ferrand, Francenice mix of colors! jack 29 Jun 2009 10:32pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaHow beautiful!
