This is my favorite of the arches. Early morning shot. We were the only ones there.
REQUIEM
It came to me the other day:
Were I to die, no one would say,
"Oh, what a shame! So young, so full
Of promise -- depths unplumbable."
Instead, a shrug and tearless eyes
Will greet my overdue demise;
The wide response will be, I know,
"I thought he died a while ago."
For life's a shabby subterfuge,
And death is real, and dark, and huge.
The shock of it will register
Nowhere but where it will occur.

@Suzanne: Thank you; that was an incredible morning.
@Linerberry: Thank you; you make me feel very humble.
@Diane Schuller: This is not only my favorite Arch, it is my favorite Arches photograph.
@Cricket: I could stay there for hours, Tammy; truly a holy place!
@PD: You will not regret it!!
@JJ: Thanks, JJ.
@Monique: Thank you. This is far and away my favorite arch in the park, and this shot taken in 2007 is my best capture. We were back with kids and granddaughter in March 2008; I took tons of photographs of Pine Tree Arch but none that I like as much as this one.
