Take a look at the weather yesterday. This was taken just a couple of miles away. It's hard in this scene to believe that it is still winter.

Incredible contrast between yesterday's image and today.
Really enjoy your quotes.

2 Feb 2009 5:08am

@Barbara: Thanks, Barbara. As you can see, the quotes don't relate to the photographs except on a rare occasion.

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

If the trees had some leaves, I'd say summer. Nice capture.

bluechameleon from Vancouver, Canada

There is so much character in those trees...Nice contrast between them and the newer structure. Beautiful colours Jack!

2 Feb 2009 5:52am

@bluechameleon: It's really a quite dilapidated building. You're right about the trees; they are incredible.

Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, Iran

Those branches. Always those branches!
Lovely blue sky.
This is a superb composition and capture Jack! :)

2 Feb 2009 6:15am

Il suffirait de quelques vitrages pour avoir envie de rester là pour toujours. Sur la maison en haut de la colline. S'asseoir et regarder passer le temps!

Feels like a fresh spring morning, I can taste that wonderful air Ha ha

A delightful photograph, Jack, and a wonderful colourful treat compared to the disruptive snow that has just seen me give up jy attempts to drive to work and come back home!

zahai from Berlin, Germany

This scene has a very spring-like feeling to it, love the blue of the sky. Let's hope it keeps what it promises, and we don't have to wait for spring too long anymore. I've had more than enough of winter, frost, and way too many grey days unlike this.

2 Feb 2009 8:43am

@zahai: It was an amazing day!

It definitely does look like spring! A beautiful 70 degree day with a gentle breeze! Beautiful landscape!

2 Feb 2009 10:52am

@Betty: How I wish 70F; it was actually around 45F, which was a big improvement.

Ninni from Belo Horizonte, Brazil

It looks like a brazilian winter! Not a winter that I am used to, born in Sweden:)
Lovely photo and an interesting building. Is it a barn?

2 Feb 2009 10:56am

@Ninni: I think that it was a barn. It's empty now; it's part of a local park. Our granddaughter loves playing inside of it.

Marcah from United States

Beautiful!!!! The colors are so vibrant. I hope the groundhog thinks winter is over, too. I've had enough of snow to last a lifetime.

k@ from France

Love your colors, Jack ! Come in Paris and you'll learn gray :( .............. :)) Plus it snowed whales today !!

2 Feb 2009 3:35pm

@k@: I'm getting a vicarious experience of winter this year through aminus3. We had a couple of days of snow, but that's been it; less than an hour north of us, they've had tons of snow; go figure. However, we have had our share of gray days.

Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canada

other than the absence of leaves on the trees, it definitely doesn't look like winter -- at least not our kind of winter! :)
I love the perspective you took this from and very well framed.

2 Feb 2009 4:47pm

@Diane Schuller: Thanks, Diane; it was taken on one of our favorite walks.

Sarah Schneider Photography from Lancaster, United States

Nice and crisp. I love it.

2 Feb 2009 4:48pm

Cricket from Huntsville, United States

This is amazing that it is still winter. The green on the ground is what is amazing. We are solid brown these days with very little green. I did get some duck shots yesterday and I captured a small bit of greenery.

Once again I feel right at home in this picture. Great.

2 Feb 2009 5:02pm

@Cricket: You need to come visit.

En hiver, même s'il fait froid, dès qu'il y a un ciel bleu et un rayon de soleil, c'est le bonheur et l'envie d'aller se promener nous reprend.

8 Feb 2009 11:06am

@Rachel: One of the things that I have found out is that all kinds of weather provides wonderful photographic opportunities. Photography really helps me with the gray days.
