Tree in Sepia

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 3 February 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I talk to trees; they are fabulous listeners.

Everyone should carefully observe which way his heart draws him, and then choose that way with all his strength.

-- Hasidic saying

I used Silver Efex Pro to process this.

Great compo... ! A feeling of intimacy somehow probably due to the post-processing (makes me think of these old photos we have from grand'pa or grand'ma... ). Vignetting adds a lot.

Hema from Bangalore, India

Fantastic shot. I have never tried Silver Efex Pro. I think I should do it.
There is so much to learn :-).
"Everyone should carefully observe which way his heart draws him, and then choose that way with all his strength." - Love this quote.

3 Feb 2009 4:20pm

@Hema: As with all software, Hema, take advantage of the trial periods. I say this as a sad learner; I spent almost $200 on a plug-in that I never use; if I had tried it out, I would have saved myself the money. Silver Efex Pro, in my opinion, is an extraordinary plug-in for converting to B&W; it enables you to do amazing things, but please don't trust my experience; you are the sole judge of what works for you. Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canada

what an interesting process but so fitting Jack. The processing gives it a real sense of importance. I talk to everything -- great to know someone who talks to trees!

3 Feb 2009 4:57pm

Alivia from Saint-Etienne, France

l'arbre en sépia crée une atmosphère, on dirait une carte postale ancienne, une image d'antan, et ce reflet inversé qui pourrait nous permettre de mettre l'image à l'envers, cet arbre est comme une apparition.
