It's wonderful the way the sea makes its deposits upon the shore!
The main cause for failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want at the moment.

(I read this when I get into my D700 lust!!)
The natural placement of things give an opportunity for a great shot. I like the tone and framing.
I needed the quote earlier when I was looking at all of those lenses today.

This looks like it is ready to build a fire. I know it is damp but the "stack" does make one wonder.

Great capture, Jack! Re: your quote, it's so hard to keep the wanter in check when we should be listening to the needer - the wanter seems to speak more loudly. =)

These logs look like they've just been set up for a nice fire. Looks like a good place for one on that chilly beach. Nice image.

One of my favouraite things is walking the BC coastline and photographing the driftwood, such magnificents forms and shapes that they make. This is a terrific image, Jack, superbly presented

Lovely warm light in this image. Fabulous quote! Worth keeping in mind.
10 Feb 2009 2:17pm
Really nice composition and lighting. What do you use for your frames?
10 Feb 2009 3:38pm
@PD: I use onOne's plug-in PhotoFrame 4. If it is a plain black frame, it is simply a Stroke.
I think I also need to memorize that quote. Because every now and then my head has started turning towards D300.

@Ajay: Some of the tests rate the D90's sensor higher than that of the D300. I use my D80 while traveling as a second camera to my D300 (so I don't have to change lenses); many of my best photographs come from the D80. (Please don't tell my wife that.)
Even these once mighty trees end up looking like a pile of sticks when the ocean has its way with them. Great capture.

I love the serendipity and the power of the water in 'placing' these logs of driftwood. I've always loved driftwood ever since I was a little girl -- still do.
