The Bridge at WaldportPosted by john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 15 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. First of all, Beau wishes to thank you for all of your incredibly perceptive comments yesterday. Plus, Beau says, "You might want to check yesterday's photograph again; my dad got rid of the blue cast (sometimes he's a little sloppy)." Now, back to the Coast series. It was supposed to rain, but it didn't!

@bluechameleon: Thanks, Sharon! @Tammy/Cricket: You picked up on that! Thanks for your kind words, Tammy. @Barbara: Thanks, Barbara. That's Beau's mom, Ellie. @rem_la: Thank you. It was incredibly serene that morning. @Diane Schuller: Thank you, Diane, for your thoughtful comments. This bridge looks quite ordinary when you are traveling over it, but from the beach it provides a lovely scene. @Anna.C: We started out way to the south along the ocean; we didn't meet a soul on the beach that morning. @Craig: Again, so sorry you were sick. You had to go across this bridge to get to Newport, which is a short distance north of Waldport. It looks quite different from the beach. I've crossed it a number of times on a bicycle and have never been attracted to photograph it; it's from the beach that you see the way it climbs from the land mass on the right to that on the left. @Toni: That's Hwy. 101 at Waldport; so you probably have. The low morning tide was before daylight; so I don't know about the tide pooling around Walport. There is fabulous tide pooling a little south of Yachats. @missparis: Only in February can you get that kind of solitude on the beach, and even then, it's rare. I actually couldn't believe it. @JJ: When I photograph, Ellie goes ahead. Beau loves to fly back and forth between us. He does the same thing on the trail. (Right now that means that he ends up being a black and white dog!) @akarui: I'm indebted to you, Oliver, for getting me off of the dime to make that color cast correction. Thanks again. @Denise: It's on Hwy. 101 and is headed north toward Newport, etc. @Suzanne: Not if I can help it; I love the beach, don't care much for the water (unlike my brother, Stuart, a golden retriever, who died; Stuart would immediately head for the water). |
