Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 29 August 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This photograph of the Coquille Lighthouse was taken from the other side of the river than was yesterday's. It was taken in the late afternoon.

NIKON D700 1/320 second F/10.0 ISO 200 44 mm (35mm equiv.)

Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United States

The light is wonderful, Jack, as is your capture of the lighthouse. The driftwood is an added bonus.

29 Aug 2009 5:57am

@Judy: Thanks, Judy. The evening light and the driftwood combine to make the shot.

Dulcie from Danville, CA, United States

This is a perfect shot. The driftwood is very WA/OR-like, the lighthouse is wonderfully and warmly cast. No visitors at the top as in yesterday's photo!

29 Aug 2009 6:40am

@Dulcie: It was late in the day, and the last ones were leaving.

Barbara from Florida, United States

A remarkable image all around. I love the charm of the lighthouse and it's bold color enhanced by the late afternoon light. You framed in just the right amount of buildings on the left, observant of detail not to cut off structures. Your settings also kept the sky in true colors.
Very, very nice.
(Oh yes, try buying a piece of that driftwood here)
