@ghetu: All of my balloon shots used Nikon's Matrix metering. This shot had no Exposure compensation (although I often use -.3 or -.7). As you can see in the EXIF data in the upper right, this photograph was shot at 1/250 sec., f/8.0, ISO 400. I was using a Nikon 70-300mm zoom lens mounted on a Nikon D300. Most of the rest of my balloon shots were taken with a D700 and a 24-70mm lens. But everything was shot with Matrix (patterned) metering.
