This is looking back from one of the trails into the McDonald National Forest. After all of that intense color for 8 days, something monochrome seemed to be the the order of the day.
Nikon D700 1/160 second F/8.0 ISO 200 40 mm (35mm equiv.)
very nice landscape shot
I like the B and W pictures

I like the way the trail leads the eye between the trees, off into the hills and to the clouds in the sky - a lovely shot, Jack.
I also like that you bracketed ten days of color, with monochrome on each end!

Great perspective, Jack. The meandering of the trail and the framing elements of the flanking trees, lead us into this lovely scene.

That really a big contrast from what you've been showing last few days. From supremely beautiful colours to a really beautiful black and white scene. Only you can do that. :-)

@Ajay: Thanks, Ajay.
It almost feels surreal how the trail takes me through the tree to the mountains in the distance. I visualize a few cowboy's on horses coming around in view.
Very stunning image, ideal in B&W.

@Barbara: Thanks, Barb.
You took the words right from my mouth with what you stated in your narrative when I saw this B&W! Foliage ALWAYS seems to make a great B&W when it comes to texture.
