The water is way down all over Central Oregon. When I took a shot from this bridge a year ago there also was much more fall color.

Water may be low, but what is there seems crystal clear....hummm, makes me thirsty. Beautiful shot.

Low water certainly changes the atmosphere along a creek bed. I like this one with the tiny rapids and look of the water as it makes its way among the rocks. Very attractive image. Our fall colors here are drastically reduced from a year ago. Many trees have simply turned brown immediately and the leaves are falling off.

@Don: Thanks, Don. We have been fortunate to have fabulous colors.
Gorgeous place . Great framing and colors !

@MARIANA: Thank you.
But it's still a lovely green environment, and you have framed it perfectly. Do you think it could be due to global warming....?
24 Oct 2009 4:41pm
@Mike: Thanks, Mike. Although I certainly believe that global warming is very real, I am not sure if the dry spring on the west side of the Cascades is primarily due to that.
Absolutely superb !

@k@: If you want green, dear Karine, we have green. Our hike today was into the Old Growth Forest, a marvelous mix of gold and green.
Great viewpoint - I love the perfect timing for the movement of water.

@jeff (aka dogilicious): Thanks, Jeff.
Some rain to fall and the river will be full of running water. Nicely taken.

@Samantha: Thank you.
It may be down, but still beautiful. Well done.

@B. Thomas: Thanks, Barb.
But it is still lovely. Those greens are marvelous, too. Imagine, in a couple of months that little creek will probably be a torrent! I hear we have an El Nino on the way :)

@Tracy: Thanks, Tracy. With the fall rains that we have been having, it already is considerably higher.

For me this image is much more than beautiful. It actually stirs my emotions and takes me back to northern Michigan that is so much a part of me.
Interesting, your note on how different it is from last year, and also Don's mention of the Spokane area.
Excellent capture, Jack.
