Still Color

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 6 December 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Due to the lack of a hard freeze, there is still some fall color to be found in the woods.

GREAT NEWS EVERYBODY - Paul Williams (formerly EyesWideShut) is back on Am3 as Not only do you get to see some fabulous photography, you get some fine writing as well. Welcome back, Paul.

Gary Hart from California, United States

This is really nice, Jack. You're a master at finding these "little" scenes.

8 Dec 2009 6:36pm

@Gary Hart: Thanks, Gary. A sense of intimacy is magnetic for me. The Nikon 14-24mm lens has received rave reviews. However, I wonder if such a purchase would make sense with the kind of photography to which I am attracted. The Nikon 24-70mm is my major workhorse, a truly fabulous lens. This shot was taken with a Nikon 70-300mm lens, which is a consumer lens but has been very well received.

dabbler from Minneapolis, United States

Love the rich red - beautifully framed and processed. (I was reading your reply above, did you used a tripod for this with your tele/zoom lens?)

8 Dec 2009 7:33pm

@dabbler: Nope; handheld.

11 Dec 2009 11:07pm

@Jacqueline: Merci. OnOne software has a plug-in called PhotoFrame. There are well over a hundred frames you can put around your photograph; and there are tons of ways to modify each frame.
