This is along the fence in the shot from day before yesterday. I like the texture of the leaves, as well as, having the background of the slightly out of focus wood.

12 Dec 2009 8:34am
have a good day
WOW! The colour of the leaves are amazing. I love the deep red leaves against the wooden fence.
12 Dec 2009 9:25am
Amazing.... not easy to believe they can be so red...
12 Dec 2009 9:46am
@Lyl and Roll: Thanks. Take a look at the photograph for Dec. 10 and you will see that same red along the fence.
I can hardly believe these are natural..although I know they are. Lovely capture.
12 Dec 2009 10:10am
@MrsAmber: You can see that same color in the Dec. 10 shot.
12 Dec 2009 12:00pm
@Sina Sohi: Thanks.
Beautiful leaves and vibrant red color.
12 Dec 2009 12:25pm
@akarui: Thank you.

12 Dec 2009 1:18pm
@Fusao: Thank you.
C'est superbe ! Ces feuilles ont une couleur éblouissante et j'ai le sentiment de voir, un collier de la nature ! Bravo !
12 Dec 2009 1:30pm
@Peggy M.: Merci cher ami.
Lovely red, enhances by the color of the fence.
12 Dec 2009 1:43pm
@zOOm: Merci cher ami.
A fine picture of these brilliant leaves. They look great against the softened boards behind. Very well done.
12 Dec 2009 3:08pm
I really love your colours, this red is a smasher. well done!
12 Dec 2009 3:31pm
@daniela scharnowski: Thanks.
I never saw red leather leaves :)) I really have feeling these are leather , beautifully created leaves ! Fabulous texture, Jack !
12 Dec 2009 3:34pm
@MARIANA: Merci cher ami.
awesome reds! Lovely against that plain background. Great shot.
12 Dec 2009 3:35pm
@Stu: Thanks. The leaves are much further from the fence than the photograph indicates.
beautiful intense colors
12 Dec 2009 3:45pm
Merveilleuses couleurs! J'aime ce beau rouge! Très belle composition!
12 Dec 2009 4:05pm
Ok Jack, thanks a lot for kind words. As we French have a very difficult grammar, and as I dreamt of beeing a teacher, because I'm a girl, cher will take an e as well as ami. Chere amie sounds better when you write to a girl.
Of course, when we talk, it doesn't make any difference for cher and chere sound the same, as well as ami.
End of the class ! ;-))
12 Dec 2009 4:13pm
@zOOm: Thanks, Florence. My Google translator let me down (and this is not the first time). At least on this one, I'll get it right in the future. I really know zip French except for merci and oui.
I have the same feel as Mariana that the leaves seem to carry more volume and weight... Superb capture - lucky you to still have red leaves around! :-)
12 Dec 2009 4:17pm
@dabbler: They are gone now.
Jack, this is a good start ! :-)))))
First exercise : Merci beaucoup à toi Jack !
12 Dec 2009 4:21pm
@zOOm: A long time ago, I tried to send a long email to Dane using my Google translator. When I found out what it actually said, it was downright embarrassing.
12 Dec 2009 4:39pm
12 Dec 2009 4:51pm
The reds are just awesome, don't you just love Acers?
12 Dec 2009 5:03pm
@Curly: Thanks. What is Acers?
Very nice. Good color and nice use of DoF
12 Dec 2009 5:19pm
Acer = Maple.
12 Dec 2009 5:52pm
@Curly: Got it; thanks.
STUNNING! EXTREME COLOR GOING ON HERE. LOVE IT.
12 Dec 2009 6:04pm
That is a wonderful shot. Gorgeous colour.
12 Dec 2009 6:15pm
@Michael Rawluk: Thanks, Michael.
Flawless color and texture. The leaves appear too perfect to be left behind, deserving to be preserved. The fill the frame beautifully against the weathered wood.
Wonderful capture, Jack.
12 Dec 2009 7:07pm
@Barbara: Thanks, Barb.
12 Dec 2009 8:17pm
@Ana Lúcia: Thank you; it is an amazing red.
Oh, Jack. This is stunning! Fabulous crisp, clean, colorful shot.
12 Dec 2009 8:56pm
@LauraS: Thanks, Laura.
A carmine red for the grape leaves that contrast with the dark wood of the background is excellent and disturbing this bright light spraying on the leaves
12 Dec 2009 9:01pm
@Alivia-Dane: Merci chere amie.
Just two things and two tones and it is very beautiful !
12 Dec 2009 10:03pm
It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, the queen having her men Paint the Roses Red. They are so very red!
12 Dec 2009 11:05pm
@Self-Indulgence: Yep; red they are.
A great capture, Jack ... with wonderful DOF.
12 Dec 2009 11:40pm
@Judy: Thanks, Judy.
Nice colours on the leaves, the bark serves as a good backdrop.
13 Dec 2009 12:36am
@Mirza Ahmad: Thank you.
So beautiful for just 2 basic colors. Wonderful!
13 Dec 2009 2:30am
The red leaves and brown wood make a pleasing combination.
13 Dec 2009 6:03am
Nice contrast between pure red leaves and wooden fence. Nikkor 24-70mm ?
13 Dec 2009 8:21am
@Hiro: Thank you. No, this actually was taken with a 24-85mm Nikkor, which is way cheaper and much lighter. It's not nearly as good as the 24-70mm but is a nice lens for walking around the neighborhood. I also like it because it has a macro switch which is nice; it will take adequate macro shots but nothing equivalent to the 105mm macro, or even the Canon 500D screw on close-up lens.
Beautiful contrast ! The red leaves have even a shine!
13 Dec 2009 11:39am
Colorful and tonic.
13 Dec 2009 10:02pm
Love this one, Jack. Love the red of the leaves against the fence with its softly out of focus texture. Gorgeous!
14 Dec 2009 7:42am
@Toni: Thanks. The out of focus is because the leaves are further from the fence than it looks. But it does make the leaves pop more.
faaabulously radiant!!! i love this shot!!!
14 Dec 2009 2:44pm
Fantastic colours and a good background
14 Dec 2009 5:33pm
Amazing colour, DOF and light! Bravo!
