Flamboyant colors and the perspective of the bridge that carries into the city. Everything is bathed in bright light is beautiful and the light is good amidst the gray today. Good week, Jack, before switching to 2010.

you've picked a nice "bridge" between the city and nature, jack!
friendships!

27 Dec 2009 8:15pm

@marc battault: The nature part is a little bit deceptive, Marc. It was just a gorgeous tree next to a huge, wonderful esplanade on the east side of the river.

Gary Hart from California, United States

Pretty scene, Jack. In 1995 I ran the Portland Marathon and remember crossing a bridge like this in the last mile or so. Of course I know there are tons of bridges in Portland (I'll never forget the killer bridge at about mile 17 that was preceded by a long, steep hill). Most of the last eight miles were along the bluffs above the Willamette, and even though my focus was elsewhere, I remember thinking what a pretty city Portland was (and no doubt still is).

29 Dec 2009 6:10pm

@Gary Hart: Our son, Mark, has run the Portland Marathon a couple of times and plans to do it again this October. He also put his name in the hopper for the NY Marathon. (In 1995, we were still living in San Rafael. It was great because all of the kids loved to come visit, i.e., dump their bags and head for the City.)

Francesc B. from région parisienne, France
