Heron and Birdbath

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 15 January 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Viewed out our bedroom.

PHOTO SHOOT TODAY - little commenting.

MEANINGFUL COMMENTS - unless you are primarily seeking support and encouragement, most of the comments on Am3 don't seem to be as helpful as they could be. However, I think that the most meaningful comments are those that relate to our personal photographic goals. Any of you who want me to make comments relative to your goals, just let me know (this means including those goals).

Well seen and well taken shot...beautifully presented. I'm not sure I have any 'goals' as such...I suppose I just try and get something that is primarily well composed and interesting!? But even that has made me think. Have a great week end!

Good morning teacher Jack! A great awakening to the image with a composition very artistic and romantic. Reminds me of a Greek picture! The source and magnificent bird that talks to her silver dress slowly ... to drink perhaps? Idyllic! As always charming and full of life! Your spirit lives in it! Many kisses from the other side! The Heron

One day on her long legs, I would not know where
The Hero with a long beak with a handle of a long neck.
He rubbed a river.
The wave was transparent and the best days;
My friend carp there was a thousand tricks
Pike with his friend.
The heron would have easily made his profit:
All approached the shore, the bird had to be taken;
But he thought better to wait
He had a little hungrier.
He lived regime, and eating at times.
After a few moments appetite came the bird
Approaching the edge lived on the water
Of tench which emerged from the depths of these homes.
The dish does not please him, he expected better
And showed a taste disdainful
As the rat right Horace.
Tench me? he said, Heron me that I do
So poor dear? And that takes me there?
The Tench rebuffed he found the pin.
The stud! that is the dinner of a Hero!
I would open for so little beak! the gods forbid!
He opened it for much less everything went so
He saw no more fish.
Hunger took it, he was quite happy and comfortable while
To meet a snail.

Let's not be so difficult:
The more accommodating they are the most skilful
We ventured to lose by trying too win.
Keep anything you despise;
Especially when you have about your account.
Many people are caught, it is not Heron
I speak, listen, human, another tale;
You'll find that you have drawn from these lessons.

( Jean de La Fontaine (1621-1695) )

I immediately thought this story was seeing your picture, jack!

A welcoming sight to wake to. I like the bird bath. I could see this as an image on a blank card, the kind you buy for a short letter. I really like the contrast.
