A number of things drew me to this mundane image. First of all, I like the lines and shapes. But even more, I like the different textures - wood, leaves, rocks, hardware, wire, a cornucopia of textures. I am magnetically attracted to textures of every sort - bark, every kind of wood (finished and unfinished), wool, cotton, silk, granite, and especially to the textures of different photographic papers. I love to print if for nothing else, to feel the texture of the paper. A fine photographic paper is a thing of beauty in and of itself. Getting back to this photograph, I tried it in B&W, but the color version was more satisfying.

According to the specialist, the health stuff could be a long haul. No quick fixes this time.
@Magda: Thanks for your good wishes.
@Dulcie: Thanks for your good wishes.
@Hiro: Standard post-processing.
@akarui: It's a tree house; a great place for kids.
@Susan: A week ago, I came down with the worst viral infection that I have ever had. It has affected my entire upper respiratory system. The worst part has been middle ear infections in both ears; pain only in the left ear; my head is like a giant echo chamber; it's exacerbated by the fact that I have for a long time had tinnitus. The phone could be ringing right next to me, but I couldn't hear a sound. Antibiotics, pain killers and starting today, prednisone, have been the order of the day. Today I saw the first improvement in my hearing. Have been housebound since last Friday. Am extremely tired.
@LauraS: No, no, Laura. Shut down the computer and pick up the camera!!
@Susan: I did this same scene first with a G10 point and shoot, and then came back with the D700. It was like night and day. Didn't really expect that.
@Susan: You are so right about putting things in perspective. Our shoot from last Friday picks up again tomorrow and takes us to the end of the month. I did a little indoor shooting today.
@Ajay: It was raining off and on all that day.
