1 Feb 2010 9:52pm

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Very cool shot here......looks like something from a different planet.....Re Hiro's HDR yesterday..... a bit too much noise in it for my liking.......

1 Feb 2010 11:01pm

@Susan: I moved Hiro's shot over into PS and blew it up. The noise doesn't bother me at all. The chromatic aberrations in the clouds does. What I like about it is that it doesn't clearly look like HDR. I think that to look good to me, HDR requires much more finessing than does normal processing.

Mirza Ahmad from Amsterdam, Netherlands

Nice, judicious use of the technique.

1 Feb 2010 11:33pm

B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United States

Cool slime.
I agree with you about HDR. I like HDR that does not "scream" HDR - that it should improve the photo, without over-riding the subject, etc.

A beautiful abstract that you have captured here. I love the flowing look. I also like the millions of air bubbles whose presence seem to hint that they are below a thin frozen layer of ice.
