Rainy Day Reflections 1

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 6 February 2010 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

I do not understand photographers using the weather as an excuse for not shooting. Personally, I feel inwardly compelled to shoot. And if it really is too bad to go outside, I shoot inside. For the next two shots, we were sitting up in bed reading on a rainy Saturday afternoon. When I looked up I saw reflections of my lamp on the glass slider (I'm a sucker for reflections). I jumped up and grabbed my camera.

you are right, there are def. no excuses for not-shooting. I bought myself some hyacinths to have something fresh to shoot around, and I did - just to practise, but I´m more into processing and screening older images during these winter month.

6 Feb 2010 11:51am

@daniela scharnowski: Winter is superb for spending time in the digital darkroom.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

It's horrible outside today, but I'll still take a "photowalk", you just never know what you will see (even in a dense fog). However, sitting up in bed taking pics has to take some beating Jack.

Your indoor reflection really captures the ambiance of a rainy day when it's dark enough you need to have the lights on. Well done Jack.. I only wish I could see some of the drops splashing in the bird bath too.
