Simplify Oil Painting

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 6 April 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I applied the Oil Painting preset in Topaz's Simplify plug-in to this rhody.

DROPS - Yesterday Susan from Ft. Lauderdale wanted to know if the drops were really rain, or if I had used a spray bottle. It was really rain. One of the ways to tell if a spray bottle has been used is that droplets tend to be the same size. As you can see, there was quite a bit of variation in the size of the droplets on yesterday's photograph.

Interesting effect. It's very natural, but lends a beautiful softness. Very nice. I love the tones of green on the leaves.

Looks like a cool piece of art, I did wonder about the water drops yesterday, and did some experiments at lunch time with a spray bottle and came to the same conclusion as what you said rain drops are more random sizes
