A Day Late

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 8 September 2010 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

I'm a day late for Silly Tuesday. I took today's and tomorrow's photos with a Singh-Ray Blue/Gold filter. For the most part, my results didn't work. So I decided to experiment with the Solarize preset in Silver Efex.

Sure has a strange feel to it, thinking out of the box

OK, so let's start with a question...what is a Singh-Ray Blue/Gold filter? Posting stuff on AM3 takes guts, particularly if it's not an obvious "Crowd pleaser", I'm glad you posted this-it got me thinking abour how many "Failure" shots that I've got that might somehow be processed into something. I like your shot a lot-well processed and posted!

I adore this solarized shot.
Often our "normal" photos just don't achieve this much texture and verve. It's a beautiful landscape.
How did you achieve the rough-edged irregular framing? The whole image is scrumptious and creative.

8 Sep 2010 6:03am

@DULCIE: The frame was added with onOne's PhotoFrame.

An exceptional basis, a day late, already cleared yesterday, a great symbolic for this post! I like. I know these filters, I have not yet had the opportunity to use them! With caution and delicacy I think!

8 Sep 2010 7:05am

@Mathilde: The filter worked great when we were at the Coast a couple of weeks ago. I'll show some results of that toward the end of September.

Dear friend today you decide to do something that I decided to do a few days ago! I have them on your hard drive waiting to go on Aminus3 light! Perhaps waiting for you, perfect for teaching it later!
Yours is a wonderful ... guess beauty and transmits the green light through solarization! We'll look you mine ... Master Jack a hug! Muchos besos Adela

I was crossed on your image this morning Jack but I had not put a comment because I was embarrassed, too much not knowing how to formulate my felt with regard to your picture of the day.

8 Sep 2010 5:58pm

@Marie LC: It's more important to really look at it than to comment

It reminds me of a burnt out old heirloom photo that was maybe in the attic too long. An interesting effect.

Interesting effect in this composition. Almost feels like a water color or some kind of paint effect. The tree details just bleed out with great textures.
