PHOTOGRAPHER - not only is the person in today's photograph a photographer, so was the the person in yesterday's photograph.

CROPPING - often one of the easiest ways to improve our photographs is with some creative cropping. This especially is true when it comes to getting rid of blah skies.

NIKON D300 1/200 second F/11.0 ISO 200 105 mm (35mm equiv.)

You've captured beautiful light here, Jack.
I love the photographer and the way the sand and the
multiple lines of irregular surf support that mass at the bottom of the frame.

Ah yes, the almost unconcious look at the screen at the end of every shot! How things have changed since the days of waiting for the slides to come back from Kodak 2 weeks later! Like the idea of "Blah skies"-sums it up!
Lovely shot all the better for being mono

Not only do I love this image for it's purity and simplicity, but I also love it for your settings, providing just enough depth without taking away from the photograph of the photographer as she is taking her own photograph while being photographed by a photographer.

I like the definition of a photographer you've written here. It is also interesting to think about it! Well documented with the image!
You talk about cutting the sky ... I like certain images without the sky. Much more if the center of the image is very strong. I love your picture! A big hug! Muchos besos, Adela

I like your words concerning blah skies. I also think that because you likely cropped sky out you really drew the focus down to the human element in the photo rather than making her a component of the natural world behind her.
