Hug Point Beach

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 6 October 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Hug Point Beach was a little jewel. PS - that's not softness in the lower left; that's fog coming across.

WHEELER BAY - all of the shots the previous 6 days included Wheeler Bay,
an ocean bay. It looks like a lake, but it is not.

This is really an outstanding photo Jack, in the pure spirit of Ansel Adams, a tribute to wild spaces, to stillness. Hopefuly some places seem to easily escape from human kind, they remain untouch, almost virgin. This is really delightful to be a witness of such thing. Thanks for sharing.

I love the quietness. Excellent composition, perfect in monochrome.
Because of your images of the beauty of the West coast, it is always on my mind to get out West. I have been to the West coast a few times, but not Oregon.

My eye riveted on the fog in front of the cavelike opening. The hiker really makes clear this is a bigger place than I thought. An excellent image of this beautiful beach. The B&W is smooth and nice.

A wonderful scene, finely captured. The figure on the rock gives a fortunate sense of scale.

I would re-phrase Martha's observation: "Great dancers are great not SOLELy because of their technique; they are great because of their passion." I think Martha would agree that no amount of passion can rescue a clumsy performance. One thing that we can learn from Martha--and you--is that a mastery of craft makes the passion shine through.
