Beau and I went back on a bright, sunny autumn day to where the last few photographs were taken. As the photograph yesterday was a 1 shot HDR, this was a full 5 shot HDR of the same basic scene. Furthermore, it used the same End of the Road preset as a beginning point.
@Marie LC: I am not a great fan of the traditional HDR "look." However, I have discovered that HDR covers a broad range; some of it I like and some I don't. Moreover, HDR does a great job of handling a range of light that exceeds the capture capacity of the camera; I much prefer it to Graduated ND filters. I am reticent to use the word "always" about almost anything; I generally end up eating my words.
@Jaap: I think that that is more about the wonderful fog than the HDR process.
@Mathilde Collot: thank you for the Proust insight; i agree
@MARIANA: Thank you. Actually this is the first of two photographs taken on a different day.
@Steve Rice: Thanks. It's fun playing with the presets. Now I'm exploring what one can do with the presets.
