New Day HDR #1

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 29 October 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Beau and I went back on a bright, sunny autumn day to where the last few photographs were taken. As the photograph yesterday was a 1 shot HDR, this was a full 5 shot HDR of the same basic scene. Furthermore, it used the same End of the Road preset as a beginning point.

Marie LC from Dauphiné, France

HDR is difficult for me... I prefer always a natural photography

29 Oct 2010 6:43am

@Marie LC: I am not a great fan of the traditional HDR "look." However, I have discovered that HDR covers a broad range; some of it I like and some I don't. Moreover, HDR does a great job of handling a range of light that exceeds the capture capacity of the camera; I much prefer it to Graduated ND filters. I am reticent to use the word "always" about almost anything; I generally end up eating my words.

STEED from Somewhere, France

Photo or Painting ? Result's the same .....Superb ...

You really can see the difference between "proper"(Multi-shot) HDR and "make the best you can out of one shot HDR"

Mathilde Collot from Fontainebleau, France

I do not have the exact quote, but from memory, Proust said that photography will regain its former glory when it ceases to resemble reality! So I really think that one day or another we want to get away from this reality to really give a creative and personal! I love this series on the tones, the light created in this way! (My English is very bad! Sorry!)

29 Oct 2010 3:47pm
