This was a 5 shot bracket that was first rendered as an HDR in color. I find that HDR often is great for B&W photographs.
Nikon D700 F/8.0 ISO 400 65 mm (35mm equiv.)
It's like a nicely detailed pencil drawing - great effect!

The overall look of this shot is very attractive and different. I like the toning and the antique look of the processing. Fine composition too with weight of the fence offset so well with the tree. Nice work.

Wow, it looks like a pencil sketch with this processing. Great composition with the fence leading to the tree, leading to the forest and mist behind. Very effective.

Very nice processing and very nice composition. This has taken on a bit of a sketch look, which I don't associate with HDR B&W, but it is certainly attractive.
19 Nov 2010 9:06pm
This is wonderful. In your processing it takes on that old antique quality. It's very beautiful.
19 Nov 2010 10:45pm
A vintage looking shot for sure. Lovely work.
19 Nov 2010 10:47pm
Your treatment really gives this an aged look.....and I like it !!!
19 Nov 2010 11:38pm
Nice poetic image. I want to learn this technique.
19 Nov 2010 11:39pm
@Hiro: Thank you. This one was somewhat complicated. First I created and HDR image from 5 bracketed shots in Nik's HDR Efex. There, I used a preset which I modified. Then I took it into Nik's Silver Efex and applied the Antique Plate II preset which I modified. The end result is what you see.
Feels like a pencil and ink drawing. Interesting effect.

As a rookie, not sure what you mean in your explanation. Still have SO MUCH to learn..... looks like a pencil sketch. Awesome!

20 Nov 2010 6:34pm
Hdr on the sepia or black tends to have an old time feel to it like film and long exposure. I like the results here though.. I agree with Judy you have a winner.
