Swamped

Posted by john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 7 January 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This wave swamped not only the driftwood and the rocks but me and my camera as well :))

FORGOT TO MENTION - yesterday was the Feast of the Epiphany. Since this feast often is called the Feast of Light, it seems to me to be the perfect feast for photography and photographers.

Nikon D700 1/400 second F/9.0 ISO 400 300 mm (35mm equiv.)

Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, Canada

I think you are right about the feast. And that shot is a feast for the eyes. I hope your camera stayed dry.

7 Jan 2011 5:09am

@Michael Rawluk: thanks. not at all, but at least it was a fine spray. i dried it off as quickly as i could.

MissT from Chicagoland, United States

7 Jan 2011 6:34am

@Monique: Thank you. It seems to be o.k.; however, I am having a few problems in Aperture mode.

@Diane: that shape actually is driftwood

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

DULCIE from Danville, CA, United States

I LOVE all of this frothy foamy spray. I can see you playing with this one a bit to emphasize, even more, this fabulous movement of texture. Hope you and your camera stayed dry .

8 Jan 2011 9:44pm

@DULCIE: actually i needed to de-emphasize the texture so some of the driftwood and rocks would show through
