I love gates. This is the first of a few gate shots.
Nikon D700 F/8.0 ISO 800 42 mm (35mm equiv.)
Gates are great.. so are fences. Good beginning!

Firstly, love the shot,and the contrasty treatment works so well. Secondly I love the way that many gates are like this-solidly(Probably locked) shut, but no wall or similar next to them so you can ignore them. It always strikes me as odd...

@DULCIE: actually there are only four; however, gates are not uncommon in my photographs

Nice contrast. I am not sure the gate is very useful there as I cannot see any fence in continuation.

Oh yes, this is wonderful! And the open gate with the path leading up and turning...how could we NOT want to be there and go on up the path! Fantastic and so very magnetic, Jack...beautiful!
