Going In

We got our first and only dump of snow last week. This was taken going into the McDonald Forest.

Nice, near monochrome work. I can't tell whether the weather is limiting the color or you have de-saturated, but it works well in this snowy landscape.

@Harry: I went back and looked at the untouched NEF file. Actually not much processing was done. I think that the quality of the light created the image.

Interesting textures captured here. The snow that is sticking to the evergreens reminds me of that insulation that is blown into attic spaces. I love how the river/creek stands out nicely against the snow.
