Haystack Rock #2

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 31 March 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I like the grass along the Coast. The people on the beach give some perspective. An hour later, the beach was flooded with people. (I figured that you French photographers should have a few more looks at this marvelous sea stack.)

The composition is excellent with the grasses in the foreground. It has a different feel than the totemic focus on the haystack by itself.

An interesting, off-center composition. I wish more of the grass had that warm sunny glow on it.

@harry: The sun was just coming up. If more of the grass had that warm sunny glow, there would have been hoards of people.

This is more on the romantic side, I guess the grasses have something to do with it! And....the rock has a quieter look, it does not jump in your face like in the previous shot!
