Trillium & Friend

Smart Objects - almost every photograph that I like ends up in Photoshop, primarily because that is where I use 3rd party plug-ins. I can't tell you how often I want to modify something that I have done. Smart Objects and Smart Filters are invaluable in doing this. Furthermore, the constant improvement in printer technology and editing software make tweaking needed. As hard drive space gets cheaper and cheaper, file size no longer is an issue. I even have created a keyboard shortcut in Lightroom; I punch a single key and the file opens in Photoshop as a Smart Object. (You should know that most of onOne's plug-ins can't use Smart Filters. Not a problem with Nik's software.)

That little spider looks like he is trying to escape the frame. I'm glad you caught him! As to the flower there is a pleasant warm tone to it that is very inviting.

Love this trillium macro! That you caught the spider in the frame is a bonus. I didn't know about keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom. Thanks for the information. I decided to forego the plugins for awhile, to encourage myself to learn more in Photoshop and Lightroom. Are you printing from Lightroom?

13 May 2011 12:36am

@karla: Yes; I find LR easier for printing.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

I definitely prefer this color version. The anthers really have a lot of punch here. And that spider.....I could have sworn I saw it moving.
