Monochrome Trio

THINK ABOUT IT - In a recent podcast, the great photographer John Shaw said, "Photography is not reality. Reality is reality. Photography is something else." Then he went on to say that until the advent of slides, no one thought of photography as an attempt to capture reality. Before slides, you went into the darkroom and attempted to bring your vision of what you wanted to express to fruition. Personally, that is what I want to do in the digital darkroom. My photographs are as much about what I felt as what I saw.

Phil David Morris 2011 from Saskatoon, Toronto, Canada

Wonderful tones, each having their own separate merits and beauty.
Nice depth here also.

Interesting concept that slides sidelined post-original creativity . . but, yes, using slide film sure did make us try harder to compose in-camera. Today, we have few restrictions but that freedom baffles some while it empowers others. Always the way.

I agree with what you are saying and that has always been my philosophy when it comes to photography and presentation. The camera is a tool, but the mind is what creates.

Beautiful trio of shots, each one adding something new and fresh to the frame.
