Celebrate

I tried an HDR version of this, but it looked awful. This is a straight shot with a slight boost in contrast.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

You're right Jack, just doesn't look like the sort of subject for HDR. Is this the same salvage yard?

@Curly: yes

perhaps there are too many bright and "strong" colors for hdr! this shot has without this processing a very colorful style with a lot of details! great find!

It is Amazing what we accumulate and we artists see a collage of life and color and living and another person sees junk....Remember that old saying one man's junk is another man's treasure.. I have one organized friend i bring into help me about every 3 years..She will say,"when was the last time your used that?" and i will give her an estimate--if it is over 3 years; it is "Sayonara" for the stuff,
but now thanks to you and this photo....I have an idea...
I will tell her i need it for a still life;'that's the ticket' and my future photography of course.

7 Sep 2011 9:10pm

@martim: I'm a big proponent of simplicity. Your friend needs to help you at least every year! When it comes to photographic equipment, all three of our sons are photographers; so I have an outlet for unused stuff.
