I did this for fun. Personally I don't think that it comes close to yesterday's version.
Spotlight - thank you for your kind words.
I agree. It looks pale in comparison. But, the toning has a certain character.

A snow-covered landscape...

I do prefer yesterday's image. But well done on the isolation techniques! It was still a great experiment!
26 Sep 2011 7:38am
Yep, I prefer yesterday's too

26 Sep 2011 8:54am
I really prefer yesterday shot...

both great shots but yesterdays is the winner in my eyes
26 Sep 2011 9:56am
I do like these tones but the warm light of the original is the one I favour.
26 Sep 2011 10:56am
good old mood.
Very nicely processed.. love the old time look.
26 Sep 2011 10:57am
BEautiful processing of this stunning frame ;)
26 Sep 2011 11:18am
I agree Jack; however it does have a certain nostalgic feel to it! ;-)
26 Sep 2011 11:43am
I really like this effect...it reminds me of a brown on brown duotone! I like both versions!

26 Sep 2011 3:09pm
Very interesting processing, but I think I have to agree with you if I had to choose between the two.
26 Sep 2011 3:15pm
For fun, yes !
26 Sep 2011 3:16pm
I also like yesterday's shot more, but I'm all for fun.
26 Sep 2011 4:19pm
very well done, impressive this old fashion look!
26 Sep 2011 4:35pm
This is pretty and pink ;-) Pretty cool too...Again, congratulations on your spotlight the other day..wow that was fantastic!!
26 Sep 2011 5:04pm
Very nice photo!
26 Sep 2011 7:02pm
i agree with you, jack, but experimenting is so much fun ... and the result isn't bad at all (only yd's post was even better ... ;-))
26 Sep 2011 7:38pm
@franz: if i had posted this variation first, my hunch is that people would have liked this version better. then when yesterday's original was posted, they would like it more
had the same thought as Steve ... it "pales" in comparison. *wink*
26 Sep 2011 7:57pm
@marci: like i told franz, i should have put this one up first
Of these I have a few but really ... negative in glass ... my grandfather made them ... Best regards. y muchos besos... hermosa imagen!!! Adela

Frozen in time....beautiful composition with splendid tones.
26 Sep 2011 10:21pm
Interesting processing, but I agree with your assessment. Yesterday's photos really lets the presence of fog establish itself and the "punch" of green is really effective.
26 Sep 2011 10:34pm
@Steven: In part this was a demonstration of the way in which different images lend themselves to one or the other (rarely both equally well).
Beautiful picture! I like the nostalgic look.
26 Sep 2011 11:55pm
fine vintage look - nicely processed!
27 Sep 2011 1:18am
It has that silvery vintage look. I loved yesterday's for it's colors and great atmosphere. This has it's own charm, though.
27 Sep 2011 3:21am
and this version also: is nice to see, although I prefer the other version .;;-)
27 Sep 2011 4:37am
Yes. Nice processing. But I like the yesterday's image. :)
