Dahlia Festival #3

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 5 October 2011 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

CLOSE UP INFO - if in my Exif data the focal length is 150mm, that means I used a Sigma 150mm f/2.8 lens. If it says 105mm, I used a Nikon 105mm f/2.8 lens. If it says 157mm, I used my 105mm lens on a D300 (all focal lengths are for a 35mm equivalent). If it doesn't show Exif data, such as today's post, that is because of something that was done in post processing (for today's, I applied a texture).

The texture layer is interesting jack, it gives the feeling of looking through a damp and dirty window, and I don't mean this in any derogatory way.

Don - Slackwater from Spokane, United States

A beautiful close up image and interesting technical data too. You must have an interesting time going from DX to full-frame across several lenses.

5 Oct 2011 3:07pm

@Don - Slackwater: These days I actually use the D300 only with the 105mm macro and the 70-200mm f/2.8 (since it is the VRI version it works better on a DX camera). At least 90% of my shooting is with the D700.
