Often when we offer different versions of a photograph, people comment with their preference, but they don't tell us the reasons for their preference. It is those reasons that are of value. They are what can help us to improve our photography.

Each variation has its "plus" factors. I think preference has as much to do with the viewer as it does the maker. To me, not challenging the maker's choices or making suggestions is something I must do out of respect to the maker's mind and picture taking abilities. Maybe I need another cup of coffee! :-)

En fait, je préfère l'original avec la texture légère qui lui donne plus de présence.

De toutes, je préfère l'originale et la première variation.
Mais chacune a sa particularité. Beau travail John !

Wow, these are really interesting. I like the processing. I think the first one, the green one is my favorite. It creates a certain atmosphere for me. I like that tree!

My favorite is the original green with textures for its vintage feel and the poetic simplicity of the tree in its empty though color filled environment.

I prefer the first two images. These last two "atomic" versions are too strange for my taste.
