I call this image "Simplicity." My main goal for myself in 2014 is to simplify my life. The main clutter in my life is not too much stuff; rather, it is too much agenda, too much that demands my time and energy. As you know, I am a passionate photographer. In 2014, I want to spend less time learning, blogging, posting, commenting, etc., and more time doing, more time creating photographs that express what lies deepest inside of me. I ask your help and support in holding me to this objective.

A fine picture today. You wish for yourself strikes a cord in many bloggers. I wish you success in your change today more pictures and less of the rest. I wish we could just click a "I was here" button and not create over stated comments that tend to be repetitive.

@Don: Don - if you took out identifying "who" was here, you can get that information; on your site, it tells you how many times your photograph was viewed. That is the most significant number for me. My primary goal in posting is simply to share my work. Another option would be to type, "Saw it"; copy that and simply paste it in. It is nice to know who took a look. Furthermore, if I didn't leave comments, I could look at a lot more photographs. What is difficult is to maintain the sense of a sub-community inside of Am3 and eliminate leaving comments that don't have much value.

Your images always inspire me to want to improve mine. Your creativity is amazing. I hope you will continue to post here, even if not as often. I like the comments people leave on my blog. It helps me grow and take another look at my work. I am fairly new at this (even at my age) and gain so much from this community. I do consider many of the people as friends. It is nice to have a place to share my passion. A "Like" button would not be the same. Just my opinion.

@Ruthiebear: Thanks for your thoughtful response, Ruthie. I will continue to post close to daily here. However, giving thoughtful, and hopefully, useful, commentary and critique on all of the photographs I spend time with would simply not be possible. As you know, time (and for me, even more important, energy) is zero sum. Right now, I don't have the time or energy to do the things that are most important to me. I need to give more of myself to my family, And in the area of photography, I want to give much more time to heavy duty processing. I love the creativity of the digital darkroom.

love this "white-out" image that seems so much to be right for the season ...
as to your words and the comments they have elicited, i share in their sentiment. though i find it very rewarding and interesting and enrichting to comment and receive comments, it takes up an awful lot of time if it's meant serious and not just "great shot", which is sometimes okay as well. that said, i do hope to see much of your inspiring work in 2014 as well ... ;-)
all the best to you and ellie and the rest of the family! keep clicking away ... !!!
