Old Growth in Winter

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 4 January 2014 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

NEW EMAIL POLICY - I noticed this morning that I have 750 emails in my Inbox; most of them are tutorials, videos, etc., around photography. Am I ever going to go back and look at them? Probably not. I am cleaning house. My new policy is that if I haven't looked at it in a week, into the Trash it goes. I already have way more resources than I know what to do with. I know more than I can possibly use. My intention is to take photographs and to work creatively with them. Whew! I already feel lighter. ( PS - the only way this will work is by being totally BRUTAL, and then consistently brutal. Try it half-way and you are down the tubes.)

Très beau sous bois. J'aperçois un chemin où il doit faire bon se promener.
E-mail policy: ce n'est pas de la brutalité, c'est du salut public! Je te comprends tout à fait.

I know what you mean. I don't have that many, but way too many photo newsletters, tuts, etc. that I never find time to go back and read. Love this forest scene.

A beautiful photo. And a bad news (750 e-mails). And a good reaction. Well done !

I like this view in the forest very much. I agree with your house cleaning approach. l finally have made myself to go through all the emails and do all my comments every day with nothing held for tomorrow. This is not a "brag." :-) Be brutal. I like that term for what must be done! :-)

Good luck with your new email policy. You might consider unsubscribing from some sites.
I like this photo. I find it challenging to get a good photo of the woods.

I agree - I have also signed up for too many sites that send daily mail that I just never get around to reading. Another good idea is to unsubscribe or just mark them as Trash and in future they will not come into your Inbox. We have to be cruel sometimes to be kind to ourselves. Have a great day.

Very pleasant, yet simple image. Yes, click, click, click delete is the only way to get through the modern world.

I love the processing in this image. The subtle differences in green foliage and lighting on the trunks are very fine. I can't help but think that this image would look superb as a large print. (This is true of most of your images, IMHO.)

@Jeff: Thanks, Jeff. I find that I need to print at least as large as 13x19 to get the best results.

superbe aussi ce cadrage de vert
