"Wabi Sabi Favorite at Sunrise"

Posted by
john4jack (Corvallis, Oregon, United States) on 1 July 2018 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Taken with THE MONSTER.

Note: I am aware that many people have difficulty seeing any real beauty in this kind of image Here is my response to one person.

"Wabi Sabi comes from the Japanese. It refers to their seeing beauty in what is old and decaying and decrepit and falling apart. Being almost 83, I find that wabi sabi images speak to my own reality. What I like about this scene is primarily the wabi sabi graphics, which are enhanced by the Golden Hour morning sunlight. "Good" is a very individual matter. It is not a term that has any real meaning for me and what I am seeking to achieve in my photographs. I am very aware that this is not the kind of image that speaks to many people. This image is more about sharing myself than it is about a photograph."

I enjoy the graphical nature of the gnarly trunks and branches. I also enjoy your pursuit of your photographic vision regardless of whether other people can appreciate it or not.
