"Fallen Tree"

"Fallen Tree" A couple of weeks ago, as I was walking my familiar loop in Witham Hill Natural Park, there was this large tree that had fallen across the trail. I remembered what I recently re-learned from Richard Powers' terrific book, "Overstory," fallen trees are integral to the health of the forest. Part of the reason that I was captivated by this beautiful tree was that I was reminded that as I am rapidly approaching the end of my life, as an elder, I still have much to contribute (right up to the end and even beyond).

This forest is a real treasure. I guess you can spend hours there to observe everything that shows up or hides there.
